Description: This document is a pdf of the book, “Remembering Will Have to Do: The Life and Times of Louise (Trottier) Moine,” which was published by the Gabriel Dumont Institute in 2013. The book collects the various writings of the late Louise Moine, including her two published memoires, “My Life in a Residential School” and “Remembering Will Have to Do” as well as numerous articles she wrote for “New Breed Magazine.” The inspiration for this project came from Louise Moine’s daughter, the late Jacquie Richards. She approached the Gabriel Dumont Institute to publish a posthumous tribute to her mother. The Institute immediately agreed to do so, recognizing Louise Moine’s role as one of the first residential school survivors to write about her experiences as well as for her groundbreaking memoire as a Métis woman living in southwest Saskatchewan.
