Description: This is Harold Lajimodiere’s written summation of his wartime service in the Netherlands with the Canadian Army in 1944-45. He wrote this document in 1987. rnThe first document is hand-written and the second one has been typed by his niece, Kathryn Morgan. Lajimodiere (1922-2000) served with the Essex Scottish Regiment of the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Originally from the Estevan, Saskatchewan area, his parents were Marceline Blondeau and Albert Lajimodiere. His great-grandparents were Jean-Baptiste Lagimodière and Marie-Anne Gadboury—Louis Riel’s maternal grandparents. Harold Lajimodiere was involved in the organization of Métis veterans in Saskatchewan before he passed away in 2000.
