Subject: Lépine, Ambroise-Dydime, Scott, Thomas, Red River, Resistance, Riel, Louis
Description: This document is the fourth part of the `` Preliminary Investigation and Trail of Ambroise D. Lepine for the Murder of Thomas Scott, Being a Full Report of the Proceedings in this Case before the Magistrate`s Court and the Several Courts of Queen’s Bench in the Province of Manitoba.`` It contains numerous photographs of the personalities who took part in the Red River Resistance as well as a sketch of Thomas Scott`s execution, which is less sensationalist than the similar, more widely-known sketch of the same event. Lépine served two years in prison for his role in leading the tribunal which executed Scott—a vociferous critic of Louis Riel and the Métis Provisional Government.
