His father had Ulster Scots and Métis ancestry from Quebec, and his mother had French-Canadian (LeFevre) and Dutch ancestry (VanEaton) from South Dakota and Minnesota. His draft card, in the possession of his great-grandson Devin Symanski, has him listed as a "white and Indian Citizen." This image belongs to the Symanski family and can only be used for research purposes. Any other use is prohibited.
