There is also a bad joke about Louis Riel: “Louis Riel – Why is he like a leg of mutton? (1) Because it is a case of ‘cut and come again’. (2) If you wish to see him properly served you should let him hang”. Of note on this page are two advertisements that delineate late nineteenth-century tastes. |
